A Prayer for Glory
God
Would you
Form me to be all that you
Wanted?
Before sin touched the life you created?
I know
You knit me in love
Sacred seclusion
I was hidden except for your light
Though I could not see
You
did.
It was enough to save my unformed heart
So why should I be afraid
Of the dark?
Before I was able to cry
Sin was in my blood
And I’ve been dying ever since
You breathed me to life.
I have been gasping for air
Grasping
For more of you.
I didn’t know I was lost
Until You showed me.
Now I see
Some things.
I mourn with you
the life you wanted
To give
me.
Our tears rain down and
fill the deep
Your Spirit hovers over
These salted waters
and me.
I’m changing.
Radiant degrees of glory.
My hands are raised and open
are they
clean?
I pray with the body
I am
in silence.
You hear everything
I cannot
Say.
I’m asking
To receive the washing
Of Your blood
Your Spirit
For one day I will have no breath
And I shall really start living
Then.
Glory!
